Celebrating The Birthday Of a Bus Driver In Denmark

In Denmark, A Somali bus driver wasn't able to take a day off for his birthday. Well, the birthday party came to him at work, sponsored by the bus company. Isn't that great :)

This made me go through a wave of emotions, I can only imagine what he went through, this video made me realize how lonely I really am. In the beginning, a woman is yelling the following in danish: "What are you doing. There is a child sleeping right here. What is this."

I haven't cried from happiness for a few years. I didn't feel envy, or hatred.. I felt genuinely happy. Who cares if it was an ad campaign? I don't.

No wonder Denmark is one of the happiest countries in the world. Like, damn.

It's just not very applicable to adults seeing as the lyrics go something like this:

"Today is Muktars birthday! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! He will probably get a gift, which he has been wishing for this year and lovely chocolate and cake with it.

How he smiles, how happy he is, Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! But this day is also nice, because at home mom and dad is waiting with lovely chocolate and cake

And when he home from school goes, Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Then he has to go home and have a party, and those who come as guests gets lovely chocolate and cake.

Finally we shout loudly together Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! May Muktar live a long life and get his wishes fulfilled, and lovely chocolate and cake with it."

It is good to be thankful for what you have in life and what you have accomplished. But open your eyes to the larger picture. If we are to appreciate the fruits of life, we must first appreciate the tree that bears the fruit: birth itself.
Birth is your beginning. It is a window to the chance of a lifetime, the chance to fulfill your unique mission. So a birthday is a momentous occasion, to be commemorated just as a nation commemorates its birth or as an organization celebrates its founding. Still, it is much more than an occasion to receive gifts. It is a chance to remember the day that a major event occurred, to celebrate and give thanks and to reflect upon how well we are fulfilling our calling.
